About us
In the spring of 1860, Mr. A.L. Rice settled in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania, on a farm which is now the site of Rice's Sale & Country Market. Rice auctioned his products, as well as his neighbors' products, at various times during the year. As word of his success spread, farmers brought their cattle and farm products for Rice to offer for sale. By the 1950s a market was added to the Tuesday livestock auctions. It quickly grew to over 500 vendors from throughout the Northeast area.
Thousands of people flock to Bucks County's largest and oldest market, where you can find almost any item from antiques to zucchini! Over the years, the market has evolved from primarily a produce market to an outdoor bargain-hunter's paradise, offering some of the most famous brand names in clothing, household and gift items, antiques, hand made collectibles, real and dried flowers, baked goods and other food items, all at prices that can't be beat.

The current owners, Bobby and Barbara Blanche, follow the traditions started by Mr. Rice. They've made many improvements that help the country market thrive, including paved walkways for strollers and wheelchairs, a modern indoor bathroom facility, and two ATM's.

Rice's is open every Tuesday, year round, and most legal holidays. In 1995 a Saturday market, open from March through December, was added to accommodate weekend shoppers.
